The Rentia Group pursues its environmental policy by engaging
in environmental protection
and conservation activities
in three key areas.
All group companies have set targets
for 2050 and are working to achieve them.
Key focus
that effectively uses limited resources
Rental services provided by the Rentia Group are designed to reduce environmental impact through reduction, reuse and recycling. We strive to promote sustainable consumption and production, as well as the reduction of climate change.
In 2022, we began effectively using the inventory of our used rental solar panels on the warehouse roof of our group company Koyou Logi-X Co., Ltd. (in Shiroi-shi, Chiba) to generate and consume renewable energy in-house, thus implementing our own circular economy.
We aim to help realize a decarbonized and sustainable society by strengthening our lineup of environmentally friendly products and increasing the efficiency and cost reduction of logistics, delivery, and storage.
Koyou Logi-X adopted a recycled polyester material for its new uniforms. By collecting and recycling old uniforms, we are also reducing the amount of textile waste and contributing to the effective use of limited resources.
We use biodegradable film as air cushioning material. From an environmentally friendly perspective, we will continue to use biodegradable plastic materials* and promote decarbonization efforts.
To extend the life of rental products, maintain product quality, and reduce environmental impact in terms of logistics resources, we actively use reusable, returnable boxes for delivery. By adding the "HACOLOGY" name and logo to these boxes, we aim to make them more important and familiar to people and foster a mindset toward higher quality.
Each “O” is green to express our eco-friendliness.
“L” is our helping hand carrying a product.
Key focus
Reducing CO2 emissions from business activities toward
On certain days at all offices, we use fewer lights and prohibit overtime to reduce electricity consumption.
We also reduced gasoline consumption by reviewing the environmental performance of company vehicles and promoting eco-driving. Through these and other initiatives, the Rentia Group aims to halve CO2 emissions compared to 2018 levels by 2030.
Solar power generation systems have been installed at three distribution centers across the country: Kanto, Chubu and Kyushu. We aim to procure 100% of the electricity used at each site from renewable energy.
In February 2023, we introduced our first EV trucks that emit no CO2 or pollutants. These trucks transport rental products in the Tokyo metropolitan area under the key message, "Road to Sustainable Society." They can travel around 100 km on a single charge and we are verifying their effectiveness with the goal of using them at distribution bases nationwide. Going forward, we will contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society through various initiatives.
We installed a solar power generation system on the roof of our Kanto Area Center (distribution warehouse). Using the experience and know-how we gained from renting out solar power generation systems, we're striving to generate all electricity necessary for our business activities in-house.
In commemoration of our founding 60 years ago, we planted trees in Hinohara-mura, Nishitama-gun, Tokyo. This 30-year project aims to create a beautiful forest in Tokyo for the sake of future generations.
At Rentia Group, we will implement carbon offsets for the CO2 emitted by our trucks during major deliveries, with the aim of contributing to global warming countermeasures and increasing the value of our rental services.
The rental business can contribute to the realization of a recycling-oriented society by repeatedly using limited resources. On the other hand, CO2 emissions during logistics increase (the backfire effect). The Rentia Group is promoting decarbonization during delivery in order to reduce the backfire effect, which is an issue in the supply chain of the rental business. We will continue to fulfill our corporate social responsibility through pioneering initiatives in the rental industry.
At Koyou Logi-X Logistics Center, we are actively using LED lighting to help save power, reduce CO2 emissions and contribute to the prevention of global warming.
The Rentia Group is the first comprehensive equipment rental company to realize carbon offsets through the rental business. We support our customers' efforts to reduce CO2 emissions with rentals that include carbon offsets.

We encourage our customers to take responsibility for the CO2 generated by their corporate activities and actively make efforts to reduce CO2 emissions.
Offsets are used to compensate for the amount that cannot be reduced despite the customer's reduction efforts.
At the Rentia Group, we will offset the CO2 generated from the rental products you use.
We help customers visualize their reduction efforts by providing "carbon offset certificates" and "carbon offset stickers."
The Rentia Group started transitioning its commercial vehicles (regular vehicles) to environmentally friendly vehicles in 2023. Completing the transition by 2030 is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 33%.
In pursuit of new rental possibilities, we've developed decarbonization solutions that meet the needs of a new era. We will continue to create and promote businesses and services that contribute to environmental protection across all of society.
Koyou Rentia rents out equipment to help make solar power generation more accessible and popular. Our services allow short-term use on a small scale, which is only possible through renting.
This system, the most common type, lets you use electricity generated by solar power during the day and electricity from a power company at night or when solar power generation is low. If the amount of power generated exceeds the amount of power consumed, the surplus* can be sold to a power company.
* Any surplus larger than 10 kW can be sold (as of July 2012)
This system generates electricity and is not connected to the electric wires of a power company. Electricity generated by the solar panels is stored in a battery and used when needed. The system can be used where there are no commercial power sources. While electricity can neither be bought nor sold, installation is easy and doesn't require consultation with a power company.
Building
At the Rentia Group, where we aim to become an environmentally innovative company, we acted immediately to acquire Eco Action 21 certification. In December of 2008, after the Kanto Area Center was certified, the entire group acquired certification, and we are taking dynamic action.
Environmental Management
Report
June 5th every year is designated "World Environment Day" by the United Nations and "Environment Day" in Japan. Furthermore, the Ministry of the Environment has designated the month of June "Environment Month." Since 2018, the Rentia Group has designated June "Rentia Group Environment Month" and sought environmental initiatives from all employees. We recognize and award prizes to individuals and teams who have undertaken outstanding activities or unique initiatives.
The Rentia Group aims to improve its Eco Test (Certification Test for Environmental Specialist) acquisition rate by implementing various initiatives that improve the environmental awareness and knowledge of our employees, and by disclosing the situation to our stakeholders and requesting their support.
OIKOS (monthly environmental newsletter) has been published monthly since September 2009. For our employees, we are picking up and posting environmental information that everyone should know, from global movements to familiar topics.
Since 2018, we have digitized the industrial waste management forms (manifests) issued by the Rentia Group to streamline administrative processes and ensure legal compliance.
