in three key areas.
All group companies have set targets
for 2050 and are working to achieve them.

Key focus

Expansion of recycling-oriented business

that effectively uses limited resources

Rental services provided by the Rentia Group are designed to reduce environmental impact through reduction, reuse and recycling. We strive to promote sustainable consumption and production, as well as the reduction of climate change.

Key focus

Reducing CO2 emissions from business activities toward

a decarbonized society

Reducing 50% of CO2 emissions by 2030

On certain days at all offices, we use fewer lights and prohibit overtime to reduce electricity consumption.
We also reduced gasoline consumption by reviewing the environmental performance of company vehicles and promoting eco-driving. Through these and other initiatives, the Rentia Group aims to halve CO2 emissions compared to 2018 levels by 2030.

The Rentia Group joined "RE Action – Declaring 100% Renewable" to curb global warming and help achieve a decarbonized society.
By 2030, we aim to power 100% of our business activities with renewable energy.

We introduced EV trucks for transporting rental products

In February 2023, we introduced our first EV trucks that emit no CO2 or pollutants. These trucks transport rental products in the Tokyo metropolitan area under the key message, "Road to Sustainable Society." They can travel around 100 km on a single charge and we are verifying their effectiveness with the goal of using them at distribution bases nationwide. Going forward, we will contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society through various initiatives.

Implementation of solar power generation systems

We installed a solar power generation system on the roof of our Kanto Area Center (distribution warehouse). Using the experience and know-how we gained from renting out solar power generation systems, we're striving to generate all electricity necessary for our business activities in-house.

Planting trees in celebration of our 60th anniversary

In commemoration of our founding 60 years ago, we planted trees in Hinohara-mura, Nishitama-gun, Tokyo. This 30-year project aims to create a beautiful forest in Tokyo for the sake of future generations.

Pursuing renewable energy and rental possibilities

In pursuit of new rental possibilities, we've developed decarbonization solutions that meet the needs of a new era. We will continue to create and promote businesses and services that contribute to environmental protection across all of society.

Contributing to the popularization of solar power generation

Koyou Rentia rents out equipment to help make solar power generation more accessible and popular. Our services allow short-term use on a small scale, which is only possible through renting.

[Grid-connected system]
If you want to sell surplus electricity from power generation (less than 10 kW)

This system, the most common type, lets you use electricity generated by solar power during the day and electricity from a power company at night or when solar power generation is low. If the amount of power generated exceeds the amount of power consumed, the surplus* can be sold to a power company.
* Any surplus larger than 10 kW can be sold (as of July 2012)

[Freestanding (Solare Power)]
If you want to consume all generated electricity

This system generates electricity and is not connected to the electric wires of a power company. Electricity generated by the solar panels is stored in a battery and used when needed. The system can be used where there are no commercial power sources. While electricity can neither be bought nor sold, installation is easy and doesn't require consultation with a power company.

All group companies have
acquired Eco Action 21 certification

At the Rentia Group, where we aim to become an environmentally innovative company, we acted immediately to acquire Eco Action 21 certification. In December of 2008, after the Kanto Area Center was certified, the entire group acquired certification, and we are taking dynamic action.
